Explored that
city has bike taxis which is indeed the unique feature of it. Indeed had a
wonderful experience of using a bike taxi
India should
also implement it. Here the Beninoise girls were also sitting on the bikes
frankly means they were highly comfortable but in India girls won’t like it as
they might fear that boys might brake the bike in every 10 seconds LOL.
As far as cost
effectiveness is concerned, I believe that this is one of the most cost
effective transportation especially for short distances. Every country must
make it applicable. If possible an app must also be designed for it just like
we have the apps for Ola, Uber and Jugnoo in India.
Bike Taxi are
known as Keke and its riders are known as Kekenos

While in COO I
observed couple of things. The products of Patanjali are also being sold here
in COO. Everyone says that Africa doesn’t have competition. What if you see
300+ travel agencies operating in COO and population of whole country is merely
15 lacs.
Comparing COO
with Mumbai, Mumbai has much more travel agencies than it but the population of
Mumbai is also 10 times bigger than this country itself. People’s living
standard is also better in BOM in and in COO living standard is very low as
Africa is always known to be a poverty thrived continent. In COO maximum people
are hand to mouth only.
Now the Benin
govt policies are also changed. They also want a cashless and digitized
economy. Taxes are increased on imports and exports. Everything is going
towards legalization. It seems that Narendra Modi’s step towards cashless
society is also provoking other country’s leaders to move to a next level i.e
better than the previous.

Africa, whenever we hear this name we always imagine
the poverty, underdeveloped nations, robbery, civil war and all the evils. Yes
these all the evils are highly present in African nations. Moreover outsiders
do face the problems of health also here in Africa as the climate is
unfavouring and medical facilities are also not up to the mark.
There is also other side of the coin which signifies
that Africa is the future of tomorrow and there is a big fortune in Africa.
Many big companies such as coca cola, pepsi, proctor and gamble are investing
in Africa very much. It was indeed mentioned by CK Prahalad also in his book
Fortune at the bottom of pyramid that Africa has too much of fortune in it.
It is said that African markets are very easy to cover
and make your career and it is assumed that the one who has worked in Africa
loses his competency. What if I tell you that there are 300 + travel agencies
in Cotonou and population of the country is just 15-20 lacs. We all know that
average income of people in Africa is not even 1 USD per day if we talk about
the whole.
We are the sellers of Galileo Global Distribution
software in African Markets. Our competitor has a strong presence in the market
wherein we have seen that people are so much accustomed to our competitor
Amadeus that they are reluctant to make a change or move to Galileo. This
reminds me of two concepts which I have read long back in the book “We are like
that Only” written by Rama Bijapurkar. She has mentioned that there are two
types of changes first is molting change
which means when something or some trend which changes at a fast pace and
immediately new changes or trends take place and another is morphing change which means change is
slow but it stays for long and is consistent as well. If we talk about India we
will find molting change in urban and
cosmopolitan areas and morphing change
rural areas of India. If we talk about the international perspective we will
find molting change in developed
countries such as USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Europe etc and we will find morphing change in Africa, South America
and some parts of Asia also.
It indeed becomes very cumbersome to make the people
understand that how the change will be helpful to you and how it will benefit
you after you accept this change. In Africa as the education standards is also
very low so accepting the change is difficult for the minds of African people
and also for the rural Indian people as well.

I saw one advertisement regarding Tata Somba Natitingou
in Satguru Travels which is one of the wild life safari in Benin. It is in
North of the Benin. Right now I am running short of money due to which I am
thinking not to take it. Had it been company sponsored then I would surely have
taken it. No one will miss it LOL. I am a travel freak person who loves to
travel a lot. I am indeed in the dilemma should I go for it or not?? But I know
that I have some financial constraints and I have to look for some future
investments as well so I cant just invest money in travelling because
immediately I am not going to get anything out of it. But I will definitely
gain by investing this money into any of the financial products in India.
I have got the chance to explore myself in this tenure
of two months. I will make sure that I make the maximum out of it. Travelling
is my dream and in my life I wish to get associated with any airlines because I
want to see myself travelling and learning a lot.
